EastEnders has revealed details on a shock shooting storyline next week.

Sam, Kat, Shirley and Sharon will be left fearing for their lives as they prepare for the opening night at Peggy's.

In the lead-up to the big day, Sam continues to ruffle feathers by ordering the staff around, despite being sacked.

Seeing an opportunity to play Sam at her own game, Kat and Sharon leave her alone with a long list of issues to sort.

When Sam leaves Dotty with the keys, Dotty wastes no time in reporting back to a vengeful Shirley – telling her that the coast is now clear.

Later, Sharon and Kat bond as they work together to get everything ready, but their happiness is short-lived when they arrive to see Shirley has trashed the club.

Still fuming over Zack's betrayal with Sam, Shirley is wanting payback for all the times the Mitchells have hurt her family.

Shirley also warns them she won't be parking her vendetta there, but they are all stopped in their tracks when two men enter waving a gun.

As Shirley takes cover in the office, Kat and Sharon panic. They try to call Sam for help but a gunshot rings out…

Chaos ensues at the club as Sharon and Kat reel from the warning shot.

Shirley grows fearful when she realises the thugs want the safe where she is hiding and tries to reach Dotty.

A confident Sam soon enters and refuses to back down to the men's demands, telling them to pass a defiant message on to Jonah.

Realising their threats are serious, Sam eventually gives in and takes them to the safe. However, things quickly get out of control and someone is shot. Who is it and will they be okay?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, June 27 20 and Tuesday, June 28 at 7.30pm on BBC One. All episodes are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
