Insecure favourite Issa Rae has gifted us a trailer for her new comedy series Rap Sh!t.
Set to debut on HBO Max next month, the premise for this one features Shawna and Mia (played by newcomers Aida Osman and KaMillion); estranged high school buddies from Miami who form a rap group.
This minute-long teaser (above) reveals the genesis of their musical adventure: a boozed-up sing-song in the car escalates very quickly as they're soon taking America by storm.

Rae, who TV binge-watchers will recognise as Issa Dee in Insecure, created Rap Sh!t, but won't be featuring on screen.
Addressing the series finale of Insecure last October, the actress herself discussed an alternate ending that was ultimately scrapped.
"I think it was a good finale on its own. However, I just didn't feel like it aligned with the story that we have been telling for five seasons, much less even this season. It felt like the ideal version. I just wanted to make an ending that felt more realistic and true to the characters."

Showrunner Prentice Penny echoed Rae's feelings by adding: "HBO has such a history of people having strong opinions about finales. For us, we were like, 'OK look, we obviously want this show to be satisfying, but satisfying to us.'
"Trying to guess what people want is super hard, and how can you hit that target?"
"That just freed us up from all the pressure of tying it up in a bow," he continued. "I feel like we told every story we could, the best way we could, and just gave people what we thought was our best.
"I don't know what more we could have done except making it an hour."
Oh, and if you didn't catch Rae in Apple TV+'s anthology Roar earlier this year, go and remedy that right this second.
Rap Sh!t premieres Thursday, July 21 on HBO Max.
